This Sanskrit edition of the Bhagavatapurana. It is one of the traditional eighteen Mahapuranas presented as an encyclopedia of ancient Indian history and knowledge. The extant edition contains 12 books originally written in 18,000 Sanskrit verses

Verse 9.13.14

जन्मना जनकः सोऽभूद् वैदेहस्तु विदेहजः ।
मिथिलो मथनाज्जातो मिथिला येन निर्मिता ।
तस्माद् उदावसुस्तस्य पुत्रोऽभूत् नन्दिवर्धनः ।
ततः सुकेतुस्तस्यापि देवरातो महीपते ॥ १४ ॥

janmanā janakaḥ so'bhūd vaidehastu videhajaḥ |
mithilo mathanājjāto mithilā yena nirmitā |
tasmād udāvasustasya putro'bhūt nandivardhanaḥ |
tataḥ suketustasyāpi devarāto mahīpate || 14 ||
