The Udanavarga is a collection of Sanskrit verses representing aphorisms attributed to the Buddha and his disciples. The Udanavarga resembles the Pali Dhammapada and Udana, yet it belong the ancient tradition of early Buddhism. Alternative titles: Udānavarga (उदानवर्ग).
Verse 31.52
मनश् च यो रक्षति भाषितं च चेष्टे च कायस्य सदैव युक्तः ।
स प्राप्य शोकं हि न दुह्खितः स्यात् सत्यस्थितः सत्यविदः सुमेधाः ॥ ५२ ॥
manaś ca yo rakṣati bhāṣitaṃ ca ceṣṭe ca kāyasya sadaiva yuktaḥ |
sa prāpya śokaṃ hi na duhkhitaḥ syāt satyasthitaḥ satyavidaḥ sumedhāḥ || 52 ||
