The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 1.14

udārasaṅkhyaiḥ sacivāirasaṅkhyaiḥ kṛtāgrabhāvaḥ sa udagrabhāvaḥ |
śaśī yathā bhairakṛtānyathābhaiḥ śakyendrarājaḥ sutarāṃ rarāja || 14 ||

He, the monarch of the Shakyas, of native pre-eminence, but whose actual pre-eminence was brought about by his numberless councillors of exalted wisdom, shone forth all the more gloriously, like the moon amidst the stars shining with a light like its own.
