This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

याचे स्वस्तिकं तृणां नरसिंहो यत्र निषण्णो स स्पृशो वरबोधिं ॥ १७ ॥

Renouncing this great earth, the four continents with their mountains, as though they were but a tuft of grass, the Lion-man begs some grass of Svastika, so that seated thereon he might attain the noble enlightenment. (17)
