This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 53.37

काशिपतिः तीक्ष्णबुद्धि तेनापि अस्य संभावितो अर्थो ।
तं अवच ऋषिकुमारं प्रणम्य शिरसा हि पादेषु ॥ ३७ ॥

kāśipatiḥ tīkṣṇabuddhi tenāpi asya saṃbhāvito artho |
taṃ avaca ṛṣikumāraṃ praṇamya śirasā hi pādeṣu || 37 ||

The king of Kashi, being keen-witted, was thus made aware of his meaning, and, making a low obeisance to the young seer, he said, (37)
