The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

राजोवाच ।
देवदूत नमस्तुभ्यं कुशलं चास्तु ते विभो ।
सतां साप्तपदं मैत्रमित्युक्तं तत्त्वया कृतम् ॥ ४ ॥

rājovāca |
devadūta namastubhyaṃ kuśalaṃ cāstu te vibho |
satāṃ sāptapadaṃ maitramityuktaṃ tattvayā kṛtam || 4 ||

The prince said:—I bow down to thee, O Messenger divine, and wish all safety to attend on thee; it is said that the friendship of the good is attended with seven benefits, all which hast thou conferred upon me.
