The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.172.26

हेतौ लब्धेऽप्यलब्धे वा पवनस्पन्दवद्विदः ।
ता एवाभ्यासरूढार्थाः सादृश्यात्स्मृतयः कृताः ॥ २६ ॥

hetau labdhe'pyalabdhe vā pavanaspandavadvidaḥ |
tā evābhyāsarūḍhārthāḥ sādṛśyātsmṛtayaḥ kṛtāḥ || 26 ||

Any thing whether obtained or not by any means, passes also for an object of memory; as the ventilation of wind by means of a fan.
