The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.75.50

शनैश्चार्वाकृतिर्मेरुरासीद्धिम इवातपे ।
क्षणेनैवानलात्तस्माद्धिमवाञ्जतुवद्द्रुतः ॥ ५० ॥

śanaiścārvākṛtirmerurāsīddhima ivātape |
kṣaṇenaivānalāttasmāddhimavāñjatuvaddrutaḥ || 50 ||

By degrees the prodigious mountain Meru, was dissolved to snow by the heat of fire; and soon after the great mount of Himalaya, was melted down as lac-dye by the same fire.
