The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.48.8

उपशान्तेन दान्तेन स्वात्मारामेण मौनिना ।
ज्ञातैवान्विष्यते ज्ञेन विज्ञानैकान्तवादिना ॥ ८ ॥

upaśāntena dāntena svātmārāmeṇa mauninā |
jñātaivānviṣyate jñena vijñānaikāntavādinā || 8 ||

Wherever he goes or stays, he is always calm and self-governed, silent and self-communing; and though well informed himself, yet he is ever in quest of knowledge by reason of his inquiry after truth.
