The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.37.29

तदस्य सेच्छा नेच्छा वा ब्रह्मैवात्र न संशयः ।
इच्छा न जायते ज्ञस्यावश्यमेवानु वा नवा ॥ २९ ॥

tadasya secchā necchā vā brahmaivātra na saṃśayaḥ |
icchā na jāyate jñasyāvaśyamevānu vā navā || 29 ||

Verily the will or desire and the unwillingness of the wise, are actuated by and proceed from Brahma himself; they have no uncontrollable or inordinate desire, but pursue their own course, and have nothing new or inordinary to wish for.
