The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

गते कुम्भे महीपालः परं विस्मयमाययौ ।
तमेव चिन्तयंश्चित्रं चित्रार्पित इवाभवत् ॥ ८ ॥

gate kumbhe mahīpālaḥ paraṃ vismayamāyayau |
tameva cintayaṃścitraṃ citrārpita ivābhavat || 8 ||

The prince was plunged in deep sorrow, after the departure of Kumbha from before him; and remained as a painted picture, with his thoughts dwelling on his vanished friend.
