The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सर्वज्ञोऽप्यतिबद्धात्मा पञ्जरस्थो यथा हरिः ।
यस्यास्ति वासनाबीजमत्यल्पं चितिभूमिगम् ॥ ९ ॥

sarvajño'pyatibaddhātmā pañjarastho yathā hariḥ |
yasyāsti vāsanābījamatyalpaṃ citibhūmigam || 9 ||

He who has sown the smallest seed of desire in the soul of his heart, is confined as a lion in the cage, though he may be very wise and learned in all things.
