The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वैराग्यवीरमनसो मायेयमतिमोहिनी ।
पलाय्य याति संसारी मृगी केसरिणो यथा ॥ ५७ ॥

vairāgyavīramanaso māyeyamatimohinī |
palāyya yāti saṃsārī mṛgī kesariṇo yathā || 57 ||

This illusive enchantment of the world flies afar before the indifference of strongminded men; as the timid fawn flies of or at the sight of the ferocious lion.
