The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.67.24

असत्प्रायो हि संबन्धो यथा सलिलकाष्ठयोः ।
तथैव मिथ्यासंबन्धः शरीरपरमात्मनोः ॥ २४ ॥

asatprāyo hi saṃbandho yathā salilakāṣṭhayoḥ |
tathaiva mithyāsaṃbandhaḥ śarīraparamātmanoḥ || 24 ||

As the relation between the wood and water is altogether unreal; so the correlation between the soul and body, is wholly false and unsubstantial.
