The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.43.18

अभ्यासवैराग्ययुतादाक्रान्तेन्द्रियपन्नगात् ।
नात्मनः प्राप्यते यत्तत्प्राप्यते न जगत्त्रयात् ॥ १८ ॥

abhyāsavairāgyayutādākrāntendriyapannagāt |
nātmanaḥ prāpyate yattatprāpyate na jagattrayāt || 18 ||

It is by means of constant practice, accompanied by self-resignation and self-control, that one is enabled to effect anything;and whatever he is unable to do by these means, is impossible for him to do by any other in the three worlds.
