Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. वृद्धो भीष्मः शांतनवः कृपश्च द्रोणः सपुत्रो विदुरश्च धीमान् ।
एते सर्वे यद्वदन्ते तदस्तु आयुष्मन्तः कुरवः सन्तु सर्वे ॥ १०३ ॥

vṛddho bhīṣmaḥ śāṃtanavaḥ kṛpaśca droṇaḥ saputro viduraśca dhīmān |
ete sarve yadvadante tadastu āyuṣmantaḥ kuravaḥ santu sarve || 103 ||
