Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. इत्येवमुक्ते वचनेऽर्जुनेन ते ब्राह्मणाः सर्ववर्णाश्च राजन् ।
मुदाभ्यनन्दन्सहिताश्च चक्रुः प्रदक्षिणं धर्मभृतां वरिष्ठम् ॥ १५ ॥
