The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. udagayanādividhānaṃ dakṣiṇāyanādipratiṣedhārtham /
samuñcayaścodagayanādīnāṃ na vikalpaḥ /
puṇyāhāḥ devanakṣatrāṇi jyotiśśāstre prasiddhāni yamanakṣatrāṇi ca tadvihitāni /

udagayanādayaḥ prasiddhāḥ /
puṇyāhāstvahno navadhā vibhaktasyāyu jo bhāgāḥ- prātassaṅgava(1) madhyāhṇasāyaṃśabdavācyāḥ puṇyanakṣatrāparaparyāyāḥ pañca /
'samānasyāhnaḥ pañca puṇyāni nakṣatrāṇi'(tai,brā.2-5.6)'mitrasya saṅgavaḥ /
tatpuṇyaṃ tejassvyahaḥ'; (tai.brā.1-5-6) ityādiśruteḥ /
yugmāstvaślīlāḥ,'catvāryaślīlāni'(tai.brā.1-5-6) iti śruteḥ /

kecit-kṛttikādiviśākhāntāni devanakṣatrāṇi puṇyāhāḥ,'yānyeva devanaśratrāṇi /
teṣu kurvīta yatkārī syāt /

udagayanetyādirayaṃ samāso dvandvaḥ /
teṣu kāryāṇi /
gārhyaaṇīti śeṣaḥ /
eṣāṃ samuccayaḥ na vikalpaḥ /
etacca sāmānyavidhānaṃ tatra tatra viśeṣavidhānenāpodyate niyamyate ca /
evamudagayanādīnāṃ vidāne satyapi kvacidaniyamaḥ pratibhāsate /
'sarva ṛtavo vivāhasya'; (āpa.gṛ.2-12.) iti vacanāt yadā dakṣiṇāyane'pi vivāhassyāttadā samāvartanaṃ tatkālasamīpakāla eva /
itarathā udagayanasamāvṛttasya śaradi vivāhe sati bahukālavyavadhāne,'anāśramī na tiṣṭheta dinamekamapi dvijaḥ'; /
(dakṣasaṃ.a.1) iti niṣedhātikramaprasaṅgāt /

kiñca āśvalāyanagṛhye'udagayana āpūryamāṇapakṣe kalyāṇe nakṣatre caulakarmopanayanagodānavivāhāḥ'(āśva.gṛ.1-5) ityatra caulavikāratvādeva godānasya udagayanaprāptau punastatra tadvidhiḥ tadvikārāntare samāvartane udagayananiyamānivṛttyartha iti gamyate /
tathā baudhāyanīye samāvartanasya caulavikāratvādeva āpūryamāṇapakṣaprāptau punastatra tadvidhi(2) rudagayanāniyamārta iti gamyate /
tathā gṛhanirmāṇapraveśayoḥ jyotiśśāstre dakṣiṇāyanasyāpi vidhānāt avigītaśiṣṭācārācca udagayanāniyamaḥ /
tathā aparapakṣe'pyāpañcamyāḥ

jyotiśśāstrādannaprīśana(3)gṛhanirmāmapraveśān rātrāvapyācaranti /
tathaiva yadā puṇyāhāḥ jyautiṣoktadoṣopahatāḥ tadā aślīleṣvapi /
tathaiva yadā puṇyāhā- jyotiṣoktadoṣopahatāḥ tadā aślīleṣvapi taduktaguṇayukteṣi(4) avigānena karmāṇyācaranti /

vedāṅgatvādagṛhyamāṇakāraṇatvāt, śiṣṭaparigṛhītatvācca kalpasūtrādivadādaraṇīyameva /
nirṇaye ti śiṣṭāḥ pramāṇaṃ sarvatra //
