The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 8.77

सुवर्णनिष्ठीविनि मृत्युना हृते सुदुष्करं यन्न ममार सृञ्जयः ।
अहं पुनर्धर्मरतौ सुते गते ऽमुमुक्षुरात्मानमनात्मवानिव ॥ ७७ ॥

suvarṇaniṣṭhīvini mṛtyunā hṛte suduṣkaraṃ yanna mamāra sṛñjayaḥ |
ahaṃ punardharmaratau sute gate 'mumukṣurātmānamanātmavāniva || 77 ||

'When Suvarnanishthivin was carried away by death, it seemed impossible that Srimgaya should not die; and shall I, when my duty-loving son is gone, fear to set my soul free, like any coward?
