This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 53.39

ये पि तव अश्रुविन्दू पतन्ति अत्यन्तशुद्धसत्वस्य ।
लोकम् अपि ते दहेन्सुः किं पुन अस्मादृशां बाला ॥ ३९ ॥

ye pi tava aśruvindū patanti atyantaśuddhasatvasya |
lokam api te dahensuḥ kiṃ puna asmādṛśāṃ bālā || 39 ||

“And your tear-drops, the tear-drops of a being of extreme purity, will burn the whole world. How much more foolish men like me? (39)
