This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 52.86

पिण्डाये प्रतिचरन्तो उरुविल्वां प्राप्तो कनकनिष्कनिभो ।
ग्रामिकघरं आगमि नरनारिसमाकुलं काले ॥ ८६ ॥

piṇḍāye praticaranto uruvilvāṃ prāpto kanakaniṣkanibho |
grāmikagharaṃ āgami naranārisamākulaṃ kāle || 86 ||

Begging for alms on the way, he, bright as an ornament of gold, reached Uruvilva. In course of time, he came to the house of a village overseer which was crowded with men and women. (86)
