This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 35.39

तं युग्ययानकविगतं चेटीवेलासिकाहि च उपेतं ।
काषायकर्बुरवर्णं वर्षवरसमाकुलं प्रविशे ॥ ३९ ॥

taṃ yugyayānakavigataṃ ceṭīvelāsikāhi ca upetaṃ |
kāṣāyakarburavarṇaṃ varṣavarasamākulaṃ praviśe || 39 ||

This palace, then, which knew no vehicles drawn by animals, but was well supplied with slaves and courtesans, and crowded with eunuchs in red-and-white garments, did Asita enter. (39)
