This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 27.74

धर्मं चर महाराज मातापितृषु पार्थिव ।
इह धर्मं चरित्वान राजा स्वर्गं गमिष्यति ॥ ७४ ॥

dharmaṃ cara mahārāja mātāpitṛṣu pārthiva |
iha dharmaṃ caritvāna rājā svargaṃ gamiṣyati || 74 ||

“Do the right by your mother and father, O great king, for the king who has walked in righteousness in this world goes to heaven. (74)
