This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 19.84

ते च ब्रवीन्सु भूतगणा ध्रुवं श्रेष्ठिं नभे स्थिता ।
मा अस्माकं शरणं गच्छ तम् एव शरणं व्रज ॥ ८४ ॥

te ca bravīnsu bhūtagaṇā dhruvaṃ śreṣṭhiṃ nabhe sthitā |
mā asmākaṃ śaraṇaṃ gaccha tam eva śaraṇaṃ vraja || 84 ||

And those hosts of Rakshasas hovering in the air thus made answer to Dhruva the merchant: “Come not to us for refuge. Seek rather the refuge of him, (84)
