This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 17.12

अथ सा कमलदलनयन अनुबद्धा गन्धर्वबहुभि श्यामा ।
सहितं पि तं सुमधुरं शुद्धोदनम् अब्रवीत् माया ॥ १२ ॥

atha sā kamaladalanayana anubaddhā gandharvabahubhi śyāmā |
sahitaṃ pi taṃ sumadhuraṃ śuddhodanam abravīt māyā || 12 ||

Then dusky Maya, with eyes like lotus-leaves, attended by many Gandharvas, earnestly and sweetly spoke to Shuddhodana: (12)
