This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 13.3

ततः स्थविरः कात्यायनः महाकाश्यपम् अथाब्रवीत् ।
श्रूयतां लोकनाथानां क्षेत्रं तत्वार्थनिश्रितं ॥ ३ ॥

tataḥ sthaviraḥ kātyāyanaḥ mahākāśyapam athābravīt |
śrūyatāṃ lokanāthānāṃ kṣetraṃ tatvārthaniśritaṃ || 3 ||

Then the elder Katyayana said to Maha-Kashyapa, “Hear what the field of the saviours of the world is in its true essence. (3)
