This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 13.4

उपक्षेत्रं च वक्ष्यामि तेषां परमवादिनां ।
तानि निशम्य वाक्यानि शासनं च नरवर ॥ ४ ॥

upakṣetraṃ ca vakṣyāmi teṣāṃ paramavādināṃ |
tāni niśamya vākyāni śāsanaṃ ca naravara || 4 ||

“And I shall tell you, too, noble sir, what the upakshetra of these men of perfect eloquence is. Pay heed to these words of mine and to my teaching. (4)
