The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तृष्णावरत्रादृढबन्धबद्धा ये ग्रन्थयोऽज्ञस्य हृदि प्ररूढाः ।
सर्वे हि ते मोक्षकथाविचाराद्बाला ह्यबाला इव यान्त्यभेदम् ॥ ९ ॥

tṛṣṇāvaratrādṛḍhabandhabaddhā ye granthayo'jñasya hṛdi prarūḍhāḥ |
sarve hi te mokṣakathāvicārādbālā hyabālā iva yāntyabhedam || 9 ||

The ties of avarice and affection that have fast bound the hearts of the ignorant (to this world); do all tend to debar them like playful boys from inquiring into the means of their liberation, until they become too old to benefit by their knowledge.
