The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ब्रह्मभानमयं सर्गो न स्वप्नो न च जागरः ।
कस्य कान्यत्र कर्माणि कीदृशानि कियन्ति वा ॥ ३५ ॥

brahmabhānamayaṃ sargo na svapno na ca jāgaraḥ |
kasya kānyatra karmāṇi kīdṛśāni kiyanti vā || 35 ||

The world is the reflection of omniscience, and not the representation of our dreaming or waking states; therefore it can have no action or property of itself, when it is nothing in reality.
