Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विषयाशा दृशो यावत्तावद्यातः क्षणादहम् ।
पुनस्तथैव पश्यंस्तु दृश्यं यातः पुनःपुनः ॥ १४ ॥

viṣayāśā dṛśo yāvattāvadyātaḥ kṣaṇādaham |
punastathaiva paśyaṃstu dṛśyaṃ yātaḥ punaḥpunaḥ || 14 ||

I saw with my eyes to the utmost extent of the sensible world, and again and again I was led to the sight of the visibles, and enjoyment of the sensibles only.
