223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.129.17

तदेवाश्वपरिज्ञातं मिथ्या विद्येति कथ्यते ।
परिज्ञातं तु तच्छान्तं तथा ब्रह्मेति कथ्यते ॥ १७ ॥

tadevāśvaparijñātaṃ mithyā vidyeti kathyate |
parijñātaṃ tu tacchāntaṃ tathā brahmeti kathyate || 17 ||

As the knowledge of horses is said to be false, when known, so the knowledge of the world (as a separate existence) is a falsity, but being truly known, it is found to be Brahma himself.
