The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.125.36

बन्धः संतप्तचित्तेति देहादेस्तन्न दृश्यते ।
शरीरे कणशः कृत्ते राज्ये वा विनियोजिते ॥ ३६ ॥

bandhaḥ saṃtaptacitteti dehādestanna dṛśyate |
śarīre kaṇaśaḥ kṛtte rājye vā viniyojite || 36 ||

Neither the bondage, or liberation of the soul, nor the pleasure or painfulness of one's mind can be any how known to another; whether you divide the body into pieces or place it upon a royal throne.
