Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.125.35

तन्मुक्तौ मुक्त इत्युक्तः स्वानुभूतिप्रदस्त्वसौ ।
अन्तःशीतलचित्तो हि मुक्त इत्यभिधीयते ॥ ३५ ॥

tanmuktau mukta ityuktaḥ svānubhūtipradastvasau |
antaḥśītalacitto hi mukta ityabhidhīyate || 35 ||

It is thus by one's inward perception of his liberation, that he is called the liberate; and it is also the inward coolness of his soul, as well as the indifference of his mind, that constitute his liberation even in his life time.
