The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

बलाध्यक्ष उवाच ।
देव त्रयोऽपि दिक्पाला बलेन बहुना सह ।
त्वदाज्ञयेव निर्जेतुं यमं यमपुरं गताः ॥ ३१ ॥

balādhyakṣa uvāca |
deva trayo'pi dikpālā balena bahunā saha |
tvadājñayeva nirjetuṃ yamaṃ yamapuraṃ gatāḥ || 31 ||

The chieftain said:—My lord, the three other chiefs of the three quarters, with numerous forces under them, have already gone to the realms of Yama (Pluto), in their attempt to conquer death at thy behest.
