The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

बाल्यं यौवनवद्याति यौवनं याति बाल्यवत् ।
उपमानोपमेयत्वं भङ्गुरत्वं मिथोऽनयोः ॥ ८८ ॥

bālyaṃ yauvanavadyāti yauvanaṃ yāti bālyavat |
upamānopameyatvaṃ bhaṅguratvaṃ mitho'nayoḥ || 88 ||

Our boyhood passes as quickly as our infancy, and our youth passes as soon as our boyish days; and here there is an equal transience, to be seen in both the comparison and the object compared with.
