The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मया दृष्टा तदाकाशमेव शान्तं तदाकृतिः ।
मयेव तत्परिज्ञातं नान्यः पश्यति तत्तथा ॥ ३ ॥

mayā dṛṣṭā tadākāśameva śāntaṃ tadākṛtiḥ |
mayeva tatparijñātaṃ nānyaḥ paśyati tattathā || 3 ||

I saw with my intellectual and clear vision (clair-voyance), that sphere of the intellect in its clear, bright and clear light (as that of Siva's body); but it did not appear so to others, who beheld it in their ignorance, to be as dark as the black complexion of the associate goddess.
