The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.54.17

देशाद्देशान्तरप्राप्तौ क्षणान्मध्यं विदो वपुः ।
स्वरूपमजहत्त्वेव राजतेऽर्थविवर्तवत् ॥ १७ ॥

deśāddeśāntaraprāptau kṣaṇānmadhyaṃ vido vapuḥ |
svarūpamajahattveva rājate'rthavivartavat || 17 ||

As a traveller passing from one country to another, finds his body (himself) to stand at the midspot (from his knowledge of the rotundity of the earth); so nothing departs from its nature, but turns about that centre like.
