The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.2.29

चितिश्चेतनशब्दार्थभावनावलिता यदि ।
तत्कर्म बीजतामेति नो चेदाद्यं परं पदम् ॥ २९ ॥

citiścetanaśabdārthabhāvanāvalitā yadi |
tatkarma bījatāmeti no cedādyaṃ paraṃ padam || 29 ||

So also when the intellect is accompanied with its power of intellection, it becomes the source and seed of action; or else it is as calm and quiet as it is the nature of the Supreme soul.
