The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.126.76

तदेतासु समग्रासु भूमिकासु नरो जयी ।
करिणी मदमत्ता सा यावन्न विजितौजसा ॥ ७६ ॥

tadetāsu samagrāsu bhūmikāsu naro jayī |
kariṇī madamattā sā yāvanna vijitaujasā || 76 ||

And as this elephant was about to kill many men, unless it could be killed by some one of them; so are the senses of men like ferocious elephants of destruction to them.
