The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.94.11

कुम्भ उवाच ।
सर्वनाशोऽस्य यः साधो चेतसः संसृतिक्षयः ।
स एव चित्तसंत्याग इत्युक्तं दीर्घदर्शिभिः ॥ ११ ॥

kumbha uvāca |
sarvanāśo'sya yaḥ sādho cetasaḥ saṃsṛtikṣayaḥ |
sa eva cittasaṃtyāga ityuktaṃ dīrghadarśibhiḥ || 11 ||

Kumbha answered said:—The total extirpation of the mind, consists in the entire extinction of the world from it; the learned and the men of long foresight, call this to be the abandonment of the mind.
