The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.81.8

समस्तैवोर्ध्वमायाति यदि युक्त्या न धार्यते ।
तत्पुमान्मृतिमायाति तया निर्गतया बलात् ॥ ८ ॥

samastaivordhvamāyāti yadi yuktyā na dhāryate |
tatpumānmṛtimāyāti tayā nirgatayā balāt || 8 ||

And when one with all his attempts, is unable to suppress his rising breath of life; but it forces of his mouths or nostrils, it is sure to be followed by his expiration.
