The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

संबन्धोऽयमसावन्तर्ह्रदि यो व्यपदिश्यते ।
न तं लभामहे सर्पं रज्जुसर्पभ्रमादिव ॥ ३ ॥

saṃbandho'yamasāvantarhradi yo vyapadiśyate |
na taṃ labhāmahe sarpaṃ rajjusarpabhramādiva || 3 ||

I would not have my heart to be enticed and deceived by the false attachments and affections of this world; all which are as delusive, as our misconception of a snake in a rope.
