The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.3.3

जीवोऽयं वासनादीदमिति चित्कचति स्वतः ।
इतरोक्त्यर्थयोरत्र कः प्रसङ्गोऽङ्ग कथ्यताम् ॥ ३ ॥

jīvo'yaṃ vāsanādīdamiti citkacati svataḥ |
itaroktyarthayoratra kaḥ prasaṅgo'ṅga kathyatām || 3 ||

It is the Intellect which manifests itself in the forms of living soul or jiva, mind and its desires, and the world and all things; say then what else can it be, to which all these properties are to be attributed.
