The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.52.33

अनन्तस्यात्मतत्त्वस्य तन्वीति मनसि स्थितिः ।
न संभवति बिल्वान्तर्वासितादन्तिनोर्यथा ॥ ३३ ॥

anantasyātmatattvasya tanvīti manasi sthitiḥ |
na saṃbhavati bilvāntarvāsitādantinoryathā || 33 ||

It is impossible for the slender and finite mind to comprehend the nature of the infinite soul; as it is not possible for an elephant to be contained in a nut shell.
