The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.13.83

प्राणशक्तौ निरुद्धायां मनो राम विलीयते ।
द्रव्यच्छायानु तद्द्रव्यं प्राणरूपं हि मानसम् ॥ ८३ ॥

prāṇaśaktau niruddhāyāṃ mano rāma vilīyate |
dravyacchāyānu taddravyaṃ prāṇarūpaṃ hi mānasam || 83 ||

The mind becomes extinct, by loss of the vital power; as the shadow of a thing disappears, by removal of the substance.
