The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

निर्विकल्पाच्चितः सत्ता संकल्पाङ्ककलङ्किता ।
कलनेत्युच्यते तेन पुंस्त्ववद्बुद्ध्यते मनः ॥ ८२ ॥

nirvikalpāccitaḥ sattā saṃkalpāṅkakalaṅkitā |
kalanetyucyate tena puṃstvavadbuddhyate manaḥ || 82 ||

The intellectual essence being defiled by its desires, after falling from its state of indifference; becomes the principle of production or producing the desired objects.
