The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.28.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
इत्युक्त्वा भगवान्देवांस्तत्रैवान्तर्धिमाययौ ।
वेलावनितटे शब्दं कृत्वेवाम्बुतरङ्गकः ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
ityuktvā bhagavāndevāṃstatraivāntardhimāyayau |
velāvanitaṭe śabdaṃ kṛtvevāmbutaraṅgakaḥ || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—Saying so, the god Brahma vanished from the sight of the gods, as the wave of the sea retires and mixes with its waters, after having dashed and crashed against the shore.
