The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.49.5

तेन शैलास्त्रघातेन विराट् प्राणसमीरणः ।
शमं चैतन्यशान्त्येव प्रययौ वायुराततः ॥ ५ ॥

tena śailāstraghātena virāṭ prāṇasamīraṇaḥ |
śamaṃ caitanyaśāntyeva prayayau vāyurātataḥ || 5 ||

Opposed by these rock-like barriers, the airy weapons were at a stand still, as the animal spirits are checked by the firm stoicity of the soul.
