The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

हा तात हेतयो लग्नास्तरुणीकबरीतृणे ।
ज्वलन्ति शुष्कपर्णौघा इव वीरानिलेरिताः ॥ ३१ ॥

hā tāta hetayo lagnāstaruṇīkabarītṛṇe |
jvalanti śuṣkaparṇaughā iva vīrānileritāḥ || 31 ||

Oh! the mighty power of fire, that has set to flame the forelocks of our fair damsels, and is burning the braids of their hair, like blades of grass or straws.
