उपर्यभूद्व्योमसरस्ताराकुमुदमण्डितम् ।
अधस्त्वभूद्वारिसरः स्फुरत्कुमुदतारकम् ॥ ९ ॥

uparyabhūdvyomasarastārākumudamaṇḍitam |
adhastvabhūdvārisaraḥ sphuratkumudatārakam || 9 ||

There was an etherial lake above spangled with stars like the white lotuses on high; and here was the earthly lake below, beset by lotuses resembling the stars of heaven.
